How did the University of Hawaii's athletic teams travel to games before the jet age?
Friday night, 11/23, it was mentioned that Hawaii has their best record since 1926. This would have been before the jet age. I was curious how they traveled to games at that time. I may have misheard, but I'm sure they said they were playing in 1926. I thought they may have travelled by boat, but that brings up other questions on logistics. I guess I have too much time on my hands to think of stuff like this. :-)

- they swam
- I was gonna say they havent been around that long... but 1926 they had planes... just not jets, so they must have traveled by prop planes.
- they did'nt
- Canoes
- the only planes they had in 1926 were all single seaters, no commercial flight at the time they probably came over in a ship, but it would take a week to go somewhere, play a game, and get back So maybe they stayed on mainland U.S. for weeks at a time and played games
- They probably played other colleges on the island.
- I would have to say by ship.
- Surf's up, dude!!!
